We had made great strides in improving the page load speeds by using various tools and techniques at disposal for a website designer/administrator. Testimony to that effort is much reduced page size and improved loading speed.

Using Font Awesome

Finally zeroed on Font Awesome for vector icons. It gives  scalable vector icons that can instantly be customized — size, color, drop shadow, and anything that can be done with the power of CSS. Thank you guys and is avialable at http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/

Thanks to  MaxCDN for providing the excellent BootstrapCDN, the fastest and easiest way to get started with Font Awesome.
